Appeals from the Pensions Appeal Tribunals.
The Commissioners now have jurisdiction over appeals from the Pensions Appeal Tribunals under the Armed Forces (Pensions and Compensation) Act 2004 (Armed Forces (Pensions and Compensation) Act 2004 (Commencement NO.2) Order SI 2005/356). Appeals lodged before 06.04.05 remain within the jurisdiction of the Court of Session. The procedural rules are in the Social Security Commissioners (Procedure) (Amendment) Regulations 2005/870.
In respect of Pensions Appeal cases Commissioners will be known as Pensions Appeal Commissioners.

How to claim expenses.
You will need to download one of the following forms to claim your expenses if you attend an oral hearing.
Format: MS WordThis form should be sent to the Commissioners’ Office 21 days prior to the date of your oral hearing. The form tells us if you wish to attend the hearing.

This form is used to claim expenses for attending an oral hearing. You should bring this form with you to the hearing.

This form is used to claim loss of earnings and should be given to your employer following the oral hearing so that they can confirm how long you were absent from work. If you are self employed then any claim for loss of earnings must be accompanied by either a letter from a solicitor or accountant or copies of recent tax returns. Once the necessary information has been supplied the form should then be forwarded to the Commissioners’ Office.
